Hi Tony:
Thanks for your suggestion. You are right in that now it is fairly easy to transfer files via HTTP/HTTPS! DO yoou happen to know if the HTTP transfers are 8-bit byte paked or 7-bit byte packed?
Kind regards
Fred

Most of the time, yes.
But, I plan everything out ahead of time so I don't expect
to run into many problems.
You'd have to be more descriptive what you want to support
with FTP since there are many ways to configure
authentication, different modes and clients. In general
though, I don't configure FTP... given a choice (which
isn't always the case) I configure HTTP/HTTPS transfers
instead so I don't have to think twice whether the client
is configured appropriately.
And, since I've been an IIS specialist since 'way back in
SBS4.5 and IIS3 days, I feel very comfortable dealing with
Internet protocols, whereas I get the feeling that most
Windows Admins are still experiencing problems
transitioning from LAN technologies to Internet
technologies.

trying to install a "semi-perfect system" I was getting a
little discouraged! The main purpose for SBS2k3 will be a
product we are trying to build for electronic imaging. Tha
average file size transfer per image is about 10-30
MBytes and customers will typically have 15 to 30 images.
This is the main reason for the FTP site.
