I've got a 3 month old SBS 2003 server box which seems to
be on it's last legs - many network errors, exchange not
operating properly, POP3 connector dead, etc. Not
completely sure if virus related, but is a strong
probability. Also cannot Ctrl-Alt-Delete login after a
few minutes either, so clearly there's a big problem here.
Before I wipe the hard drive tonight and reinstall the
OS, should there be anything I do (besides the below
list) to recover as much of the machine as possible?
- Already moved user shared folders to other drive
- Backup users mailbox stuff (e-mail, contacts, etc.)
- Grab my documents, etc. from my SharePoint site (or
just move the sharepoint databases)
- ClientApps shared folder
- No faxes to worry about
Also, if anyone has experience with having to reinstall
the OS and place back onto the network, that would be
useful for me as well.
Please respond with your thoughts to my e-mail (minus the
nospam). I'd really appreciate some input before I do
this.
