You'll just have to try really hard to get the controller and disks
recognised by the SBS2003 boot CD. Here are my tips:
1. There are 2 distinct and different ways to install SCSI drivers into
SBS2003 when booting from the CD. One is the F6 way that you mention, the
other I think involved pressing F8 at some other point (much earlier). As
long as you've tried BOTH methods, as some drivers only work the one way.
2. Get the drivers from the Dell website for that server rather than from
adaptec.
3. Get the drivers from the resource CD included with the server.
4. Fish the drivers from the assistant CD, maybe manually copying the .sys
files and hacking the "textsetup.txt" (or similar) file by hand.
5. Try the assistant CD, telling it you've got a stock standard Win2K3
server instead.
6 If that doesn't work, maybe GET a standard Win2K3 CD (eg an evaluation
one) and install this, then "upgrade" to SBS2003.

Please help me!!!

I am having a problem installing SBS 2k3. I have a Dell
Poweredge 1750 server with 2 73GB SCSI Hard drives (on an
Adaptec AHA-39160 controller).

Dell supllied both the server and SBS BUT as 2 seperate
orders (as they won't pre-install SBS on this particular
model - charming!) so it's up to me to install SBS.

With all servers Dell supply a 'server assistant CD'. I
used this to set up the system with RAID 1 and all my
windows details but it wouldn't install. I called Dell,
they said that CD isn't compatible with SBS.

When i try and load SBS by itself i doesn't see the 2
73GB SCSI drives. So I went to the Adaptec site, found
the drivers, put them on floppy and tried to load SBS
again (pressing F6 to load additional drivers) and it
STILL won't see the drives.

I called MS directly who told me that the support is
chargeable. Seeing as I can't even load it yet I begrudge
paying over £200 for help on this. Can anyone advise me?

By the way, when using Dell's CD BOTH drives show up
fine. It's weird.

Can anyone please help me?!?! It's driving me nuts!!!!

Thanks!

Dylan
