just a note:
you could just put the printer on the network and let dhcp give it an ip.
do a config page on the printer to see what ip address it has or go to DHCP
mmc and check what address it was given.
then try to use your web browser to log into the print server. I am not sure
that model has a built in web server for configuration, but you can try it.
make a basic tcpip printer port to the ip address of the print server and
use hpl4 (or what ever you got to work)
share that printer, all should be good.
