You seem to have most of the answers re the sonic wall
I have installed plenty sbs2003 servers. one main thing to do is set the server clock back until about july / august 2003. or the sharepoint portal will not install. you may also want to check when the oem pack you bought was produced. microsoft will replace CD3 free of charge as the original has a few errors on it.
ps don't forget to reset the time after the install or the clients will not be able to log in
