You can't "share a share" - you can imagine the security implications of
this were it possible.

The main problem is the use of the .local domain namespace in conjuction
with the Rendevouz protocol. There are several ways to work around this,
but one of the more straightforward is this:

1. Open the Terminal program located in the Utilities folder.

2. Change directories to the /etc/resolver/ directory by typing the
following
commands, pressing Enter after each line:

Cd /
Cd etc/resolver

3. Log on as the root (administrator) user by typing "sudo tcsh" and then
typing
the administrator password for the system.

4. Edit the local file using the text editor of your choice. To use pico (a
simple
text editor), type "pico local".

5. Replace the nameserver IP address listed with the correct IP address of
a DNS
server on the .LOCAL domain in which you want the Mac OS X system to access.

6. Replace the port number with 53.

7. Save the file by pressing Ctrl+X, and then Y, and then Enter.

>Hi,

Ok I named my domain .local before we had a Mac. Now the thing wont
connect. It will connect to all the other clients but not the server, even
if I type in the IP address of the server as follows:

smb://192.1681.150

Asks for username and password and then rejuects them. I know their right.

So because I can connect to other clients and those clients are win2k and
can connect to the server group shared, can I then share that mapped drive
out so the Mac can connect it?
