The following after the line is a post i've beeen working
on for quite some time with no solution. The problem i'm
having is regarding internet email on my sbs 2k3 standard
box. The recieving isn't much of a problem, its the
sending. I have a small company that uses our corporate
email. They do not offer an smtp server, so i use my isp
for that. the usernames of the email accounts are
different from the user account names for the exchange
server.

we will use the following code:

username for exchange: userexchange
username for email: useremail
isp domain: ispdomain
email domain: domain
exchange name: exchange

I'm now to the point where i can send email to anyone,
except to our www.domain.com addy. I got the pop account
setup on the server, as stated below, and everything
works, except 1 thing, can't send to useremail@domain.com.

I have tried it all, here's a quick summary of all i've
done in the CEICW starting at the Internet E-mail part:

 1) Enable Inernet E-mail
 2) Wasn't sure what to put here, so i chose forward all
email and put in my smtp ISPdomain.com in the E-mail
server box
 3) Checked USE the MS Connector for POP3, USE EXCHANGE,
bullet in email is held... and put in domain.com in the
box, then bulleted ETRN (not what either of these did, so
just put it in the first one, the send one wanted a
username and password)
 4) Put in myISPdomain.com in the E-mail domain name box
 5) I added one user account in the POP3 Mailbox Accounts
for testing purposes, will add the rest later if i get it
completedly working (put in mail.domain.com, the user and
password, chose user mailbox and the exchange user that
will be using this account)
 6) Schedule is 15 minutes
 7) Remove email attchments is default

After this, I opened the Server Management Console, then
users, opened my test user properties, chose email
addresses properties, and unchecked the checkbox to
automatically... and added userdomain@domain.com and
setup as primary so i could send using the correct
address. Slowly but surely we are getting there.

Robb,
The outgoing mail settings will be configured on the SMTP
server setup
portion of the CEICW. Instead of the default 'Use DNS to
route mail', you
will want to specify 'Forward all e-mail to e-mail server
at your ISP' when
running through the CEICW.

Hi Robb,
If you let exchange handle your mail sending and
receiving, your life will
be better. It will certainly be less trouble.

None of the above is going to work, because you didn't
map any of the pop
accounts to user accounts. The pop connector has nothing
to do every 15
minutes, because you didn't give it anything to do. It
can't remove any
attachments, as it's not collecting any mail. In fact, I
think it shuts down
if you don't configure any pop boxes.
You do have to have the login information for each pop
account. Then set the
Outlook clients to use the exchange server exclusively,
not pop the ISP pop
boxes. Exchange will do that for you.
