This is what led me away from standard back-up programs
like Veritas, their "baremetal" restore is a joke
requiring you to manually re-install quite a bit to get
back to where you were.
I find imaging software to be far superior, I used to use
PowerQuest v2i but it sucks now, I haven't tried Acronis
True Image but others here have endorsed it as a good
product.
I used the older version of v2i to do a baremetal restore
of an SBS2000 installation, it worked perfectly and was
very fast.
