Please be aware that today I have received notifications
of a mail doing the rounds which appears to have come
from Microsoft. The actual email address is MS Customer
Support [easbxbepldyee@confidence_ms.net], and its
addressed to MS Customer.
The mail looks and feels very micosoft but the attachment
(of the supposed updates) contains QTMA.EXE and contains
a worm virus (WORM_SWEN.A virus). Luckily Scanmail (Trend
Microsystems) detected it and deleted it.
Now I'm not one to point blame etc. But this forum is the
ONLY place I have used the email address that this spam
mail was sent to. The system it was sent to was set up by
me only at the weekend, and I posted a question a few
days back. I can assure all moderators / contributors
that this is a genuine post and not intended to scare
people but please could people be extra vigilant in their
virus scanning and detection.
Many thanks,
Pad.
