Sound like the router is not passing pptp packets back to your SB Server,
since you indicate you can create a VPN connection from other client on
your subnet.

In order to create a PPTP connection you router has to forward TCP port
1723 and GRE (IP Protocol 47) back to the SB server.

Some other questions:
Is you server configured with one NIC or two?
Are you using the Standard or Premium version of SBS 2003?
