Only one SBS is allowed per LAN but the SBS can be master of as many vanilla
windows DC's as you have CALs for, additional DC's consume a single device
CAL each.

I should point out at this stage that a 2nd method is available, seperate
SBS's at the two sites in their own domains.

The question of VPN is definitely NOT off topic. Remote access to SBS has
always been high on our discussion list, RWW doesn't do away with the need
to VPN.

How to handle the VPN is defined by how you wish to set up each site and the
degree of control you wish to have over users, particularly in respect of
internet access. Most of our clients are fairly free with internet access,
relying on verbal agreement and common sense (sounds pretty silly when you
type that :).

We have a client using the described scenario to support a remote office in
Armidale calling into Sydney HQ (not sure, but I think it's about 1000km).
Both sites are on 512K SDSL. HQ has a simple NAT router in front of ISA on
SBS2000 so that ISA handles the VPN on this end. Armidale uses a VPN capable
SnapGear lite router to establish a PPTP tunnel to Sydney. This actually
means that internet access is more restrictive at HQ than the remote office,
but hey, it works and they're happy with it.
