Hello Ernest.
This can happen for a lot of reasons all of them are usually communications
related. By that I mean something happened on the telephone lines that
disrupted the flow of data and most likely after the sending fax thouht it
had completed sending. While a detailed look into the fax service T30 logs
is beyond a posting, the T30 logs gathered for simialar issues usually show
the SBS fax service asking for a retransmit during the last page or so and
getting a disconnect request in return from the sender (since they thought
they completed). Had your side actually have been a fax machine it is
likely the page was being printed when the error happened and the page
would have printed what it had and nothing been noted as unusual but in a
software b ased fax such as ours, the page(s) will be discarded due to the
error resulting in the behavior you describe.
Best wishes,
Albert Morris
