I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, Here is an
update to my two issues I posted back on the 18th.
1. I had the users select file print from within the
application on the remote computer and the local printer
at their residence is not available.
I've tried everything I know of and hope someone has
experienced this issue before or knows someone who has.
2. I had the user remote in to his office desktop from
another XP computer and this works just fine. I know it
works remotely because I have remoted in to all the
workstations at the office from my home PC. I checked his
user account and he is a member of the mobile template,
is a member of remote web workplace group etc. Now the
one thing is, his account was originally created with the
standard user template and when he was given Remote
authorization, I added him to the same remote groups I am
a member of. He can use OWA and RWW to check his e-mail
just fine, he cannot remote to his desktop from outside
the office.
I pasted my original issues below.. any help again is
always appreciated.
Sincerely,
Fred
Sorry I just Skimmed..
For Number 1. Printing
Ok I tried it from my Server and it works.. Hmm...
I don't mean to call your Users (um Dumb)
But are they accidentally Clicking the "printer Icon" in
applications?
If so that prints to thier default printer at work.
I know this seems obvious to us but some people don't
think when it comes to
printing.
Make sure they CHOOSE thier Local printer when Printing..
File > Print > Then Select printer.
not just the Printer Icon..
For Number 2 Remote.
Can he Login Remote Desktop internally? At someone elses
PC?
I hope this helps more than My LAST post
Sorry :(
