Thanks for responding.
I'm attempting the standard Ctrl+Alt+Del logon on the server keyboard itself, which worked fine the last time I had to do it some days ago. (System is in home office and the dog is no threat to my system security:-)))
I mentioned that remote logon worked only to point out that the account is still there and not at all disabled except for using the server keyboard to log into the server. The account still shows up in plenty of places when i log in as my back up user id. Which also shows that the standard ctrl+Alt+del logon the server keyboard works for some users.
