Hey SuperG,
Please document the part where you switch HALS during the ghosting process
from SCSI-Raid to IDE. I have heard of others saying it can be done, but
would like to know how it is done.
Thankx, Good luck with the Project!

though I might have to throw together any old OS and put it on a spare box
to access the newsgroups, should anything go wrong.
I'm biting the bullet.
I have two PC's in the LoungeAN, the old PIII/500 has been a faithful
SBS2000 for about 2yrs but her days are limited. My workstation has been the
almost as old Dual PIII/850, a nice little workhorse.
Well the RAID controller is going into the dual 850 box and she's getting a
facelift to SBS2003 Standard, two NIC's, NAT router, dynamic ip(cable).
Many of you will think I'm nuts when I suggest the RAID array is going to be
a pair of 9GB SCSI's giving me a 5GB C: for the OS and 4GB P: where the SBS
program files I can move during install will sit, but I've run through
VMWare a couple of times and this fits nicely. Once she's up and running the
idea is to ghost her to the drives out of SBS2000 which will eventually run
as an IDE RAID1 80GB D: for data. HEY, the two 9's are just hangin' around
waitin' to get dumpstered, I just want to use them for something useful,
they'll probably die on me in a few months at which time I'll have to put
bigger ones in. Yes, I'd actually prefer to run RAID5, probably will at some
point.
SO, I won't have a workstation until I decommission SBS2K and reinstall some
OS on her (probably W2K3 as TS).
I'll try to document the whole thing, but as many of you are probably aware,
documentation ain't my strongest suit.
