Briefly, you have all hardware ready like printer and fax if you have. Then
For the 2 dell server, you can setup one of them as TS server. THe steps
There are tons of other features I didn't go through above. Like you can
Thanks
you have to setup the SBS server through CD. After you are done with setup
and system reboot, you will see TO Do List. Go through the to do list which
will help you connect the network to internet, configure remote access, add
licenses, manage printer, fax, monitoring and back. Also it can let you
create users accounts and client accounts which you will use will you set up
clients. You don't have to do this task at the moment. You can do it later
from SBS Management Console.
After the SBS server is ready, then you can start working on clients.
1. Before you work on clients, you have to create the client accounts. You
can do this either through Add User Wizard (Start/Server
Management/Users/Add a User or Add Multiple Users, or Client Computers node
in the same console and click "Set Up CLient Computers".
2. Make sure all clients are connected with the server through hub. At
client box (this case are your WinXP boxes), open IE and navigate to
http://
client setup wizard which will add the users you specified to local admins
and change the computer name to one you specified. At this step, you can
also migrate the profiles existing at the local box to domain users.
3. Logon the clients as the users or domain admins, you will be prompted to
deploy applications on the box. The wizard will install the applications you
assigned at step 1. After applications are installed and configured, the
client setup is done. Now you can simply check the functions like sending
emails, navigate intranet or internet if you configured the internet
connection.
would be:
1. Setup TS in install mode.
2. Install the applications that you want users to be able to use, such as
Outlook..
3. Setup the hardware such as printer
4. Connect the server to the domain following the step 2 above.
5. After the reboot, you can try to TS to the server through the client you
setup above to see whether you can send/receive emails, etc.
import the files to the document library so the users can share their
documents. You can setup mobile devices so the user can keep connected while
on road.
