NAH, as well as the 'show hidden devices' you've found there's a cmd level
command, think of it as 'show the really hidden devices'.

 from your other post I'd be disabling the server's onboard sound, can't say
it will fix it but it's worth a try. You're not using the server's sound
capabillity for something important like 'music on hold' are you? (yes, a
client asked me to do this a few years ago,,, I showed up the next day with
a radio and some leads)
