I would still like to understand what happened. Did the server
rebooted after this command? Or this command caused just a slowdown of
the machine and then later the machine was responsive again?

Do you have the latest firmware applied on the PERC controller? Also,
are there any events in the System log about old firmware or perf
problems with this controller? I am asking this because other
customers had a similar VSS issue on machine with the DELL perc
controller, and the problem went away after installing the latest
firmware.
