Thanks for your help Adi

Did run the command, and you as you suggested the system frooze. At that
moment, I was again able to ping the server from a client PC and browse the
web, however exchange connectivity disappeared immediately after I ran the
command. I was able to switch between PCs via the KVM switch and come back
to the server (with the earlier cases I wasn't able to connect back to the
Server).

This is a Dell PE 2400 with 4 x 18gig 10k SCSI HDDs in a RAID5 config using
a PERC 2si controller. The system is equipped with a dual P3 866mhz
processors and 2gigs of RAM.

This is a fresh install and the only other software installed on the system
is a KVM switch hotkey utility. The server has a DDS4 tape drive that I
haven't configured before solving this issue.
AFTER THE RESTART, I went back to event viewer and here is the situation:
Again the same eventsw 7035 followed by 7036, former saying Shadow Copy
Provider was successfully sent a start control, and the latter saying MS
Software Shadow Copy Provider entered the running state.
Thanks again for your help.
