Hi Tony, not having a lot of luck are you?

OK, there's got to be another factor affecting this. Modem 'drivers' for
external modems are simply a text file defining the commmands available to
the modem. I'm wondering about the status of the drivers left over from your
attempts to run the internals but would be surprised if this was the issue,
we might want to get rid of the drivers for the internals, should they still
exist. My 2nd coffee of the day is still warming in the microwave so the
head's still a little foggy, you might want to google this group for 'show
hidden device', there's a dos level command which will allow the hardware
wiz to show the drivers for devices which are no longer in the system, might
be worthwhile ensuring there's no hangovers.

Can you throw me your system specs? Anything unusual, particularly related
to serial comms?

Though I wouldn't suggest Creative modems as the best choice I've also not
heard a lot of complaint against them, I'd expect it to be OK and for it to
be causing problems on the attached server would be unusual, have you had
other unusual problems, I'm sure I've bumped into 'Tony B' in discussion
recently, doesn't mean it was you though.
