Sorry ... I hit "send" before I realized that I had not included the fact
that "yes" I have run both Spybot and Lavasoft's Adaware on SBS2000 servers
in the past.
I just installed and ran Adaware on an SBS2003 server just fine. But after
installing Spybot on an SBS2003 server, it generated an application error in
the event log when I tried to run it. I don't have time tonight to determine
"why" it failed.
My comments about not using the server as a workstation were intended more
for the "global" audience and SBS newbies who think using the server as a
workstation is acceptable. Certainly, there will be cases, as you have
indicated, where you have taken over a system and don't know it's current
status. I apologize if my response sounded condescending.
