Hi Rick,

The procedure for joining xp is basically this:

Run ipconfig/release at a dos prompt.
Unjoin from any existing domain, and join workgroup.
Reboot.
Run http://servername/connectcomputer
Select the user and computername from the wizard.
Follow the prompts
After a restart or two, you are all done.

For complete information, use SBS help (on the server), it is complete,
including joining older OS's.
