Peter,

To check the host header(s) of an IIS web site you would go into the IIS mmc
and then right click on the web site (for example Default Web Site) and
select Properties.. then on the Web site tab click on the Advanced button..
there you should see the host headers (if any are configured). From the
server what error do you get (if any) if you try to access
http://localhost/public ?
