Just to confirm, we are talking about the Share Permissions and the NTFS
permissions giving Everyone full control, correct?

If that is the case, you might be running onto an SMB signing issue with the
Me clients. You can install the active directory client to properly handle
the signing and encryption, again, Me and its limitation will come into play
here as you will have to use the 9x client:

XP clients not in the domain, may also have the SMB signing disabled on the
local policy, does this problem happen for any domain computer?
