Jordi,

Can you be more specific?
Which performace report are you running?
Can you give me the numbers that it is reporting and any other details?
(ffe free to paste data here if it not too large)
How much physical memory are you running?
Any other details that might be useful.

| I am running SBS 2003 and when I run the performance report I receive a
| critical alert like this:
| Problem: Available memory
| Description: there are a very big amount of memory dedicate to
applications
| and processes. Normally, the use so big of memory can cause performance
| troubleshooting.
| To determine the processes and applications that are using the majority of
| memory, use the task manager. Check he activity of this resources during
| next days. If continues using a very high memory level and these processes
| are less critical, try to stop and next restart it.
| You can disable this alert or change the threshold using the task Change
| notifications of alert in the Supervisor of administration of servers and
| the task report frame.
| My server runs the next configuration:
| Double AMD Opteron 940 processor with Tyan mainboard
| 4 Gb. of memory DDR. 266 Mhz.
| 240 Gb. Hd adaptec raid 5 Ultra Scsi 160 15000 Rpm.
| In the report the 5 principal's processes by memory usage are next:
| Sqlserv- 416 ------------------------ 1684 Mb.
| Services- 568------------------------ 75 Mb.
| Store - 3160 ------------------------ 73 Mb.
| SqlServ- 252 ----------------------- 57 Mb.
| System -4 ----------------------- 55 Mb.
| Performance Summary:
| Memory in Use: today ---------------- 2870 Mb.
| Available space disc c: ---------------- 153.679 Mb.
| Time busy disc (0 c:) ---------------- 6%
| Cpu 1 Use ---------------- 4%
| Cpu 2 use ---------------- 3%
| How can this issue affect the general performance of my server? Is it
| important? Shoud I make some action?
| In fact this server is sharing Folders with Indexed files (Rm-Cobol 85
file
| system database) and the general performance is not good it's slower than
my
| last server running red had Linux version 9 (Samba server) and I not
| understand why.
| Please sorry my English level I have SBS in Spanish language, and I try to
| translate messages.
| Thank you very much and congratulations for your quality products.
