I'm not sure I follow, users can RWW and connect to what? If there were idle
xppro workstations on the lan, with the app installed, then that would be a
possibility. But if there are no unused workstations, the cost of installing
more workstations simply for rww access versus deploying a ts server might
start to tip in favour of ts for any more than 3 or so remote users.
Any you start to benefit from reduced administration as well: one ts server
versus x number of workstations.
If the ts is set up to host the user desktops, and the app is installed on
the ts, with the sql database on the sbs, then the app only needs be
installed once (not on every workstation), and the single instance store is
intact. Moving the ts users document storage to the sbs should be done as
well.
Remote users then use RWW to connect to the ts and have access to this and
any other apps installed on the ts. Like outlook for example. If you wanted,
you could move user desktops for the entire org to the ts.
