Re: Force user to log off network

Hi Meinolf,

I do have a domain, but the problem is that the documentation I have on
which pc the users are using is something I enherited from the company's
previous IT guy, and it's quite out of date, so out of the four users I have
to log off I only know which PC one of them logs on to. I was hoping that in
AD there was a way for me to force the user to log off no matter what pc they
are logged in on just knowing the user name.

Regards,
Ronnie

Hello Rondo,

I assume you have a domain. It's not stored in AD where the user is logged
on to. If you know it's computer you can use the shutdown.exe to reboot or
shutdown it's machine. So disable the user account and shutdown, next time
the user start the machine he/she can only logon locally with cached credentials
if you use them.

Best regards

Hi all,

I need to log off a user from my company's network today, but I don't
know on which pc the user is logged in. First I thought of just
rebooting the user's pc remotely, but since this is not possible is
there any way I can force a user to log off the network just knowing
the user name or is there a way for me to find out on which pc the
user is logged in?

Thanks,
Ronnie
