Re: Cannot access network share

Unfortunately, I forgot to include some useful information. The share
that I cannot access is on a Windows 2003 Server. The machines that I
have tested accessing from include Windows XP, Windows 2000 and
Windows 2003 server. However, the server in question is multihomed.
The NetLogon service is starting though. Also, there are no real
errors showing up in the event logs.

Thanks for looking at my question.

I am having a problem accessing a network share.  When I try to access
it from any other computer on the domain I am prompted for a User name
and Password.  It does not matter how many times I enter the user name
and password, the prompt will just keep reappearing.  It also does not
matter how I try to access the share.  If I click on 'Run' and type \
\server\share I am presented with the authentication prompt.  The same
also happens if I use 'net use <drive_letter>: \\server\share'.  I
also cannot ping the server by name or IP.  However...

From the server in question, I can access the share in the methods
described above.  The server can ping itself by name.

I have File and Print Sharing enabled.  I have NetBIOS over TCP/IP
enabled.  The browser, workstation and server service are all started.

I would appreciate any help in this matter.  Thank you.- Hide quoted text -
