Re: netlogon and Gbit ethernet issue

That's the whole problem. This happens before logon, when the computer tries
to connect to establish a secure channel, authenticate the server and process
the computer policies. By the time a user can log on, net logon connectivity
is established. So, that is why I think it is a gbit NIC
driver/load/initialize related issue. Netlogon is beating it to the punch.

Let me elaborate a little more...

Systems joined domain with no problem
Systems can ping any host by name or IP
I can logon to the systems and connect to shares on the network.

From what I have read, it seems that some GBit cards take longer to go
through the intitalization process, so netlogon bet it to the punch.

This holds true, because I can restart the netlogon serivce and get no
additional errors.

I have increased the netlogon wait time to 30 seconds (no change)
I have added dependencies for netlogon such as TermServices, RasMan, the
NIC
divers, NBT over TCIP, plus more... (no change)

I have installed different versions of drivers for the NICs also.

Any thoughts...

This sounds like a DNS problem.
Post an ipconfig /all from both of the servers.
