RIS: SIS / groveler not working

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Have a Windows 2003 SP2 RIS Server on which we have created 4 new riprep
images on December, 21th. 2007. All images are nearly identical (mainly
different HAL's), and diskspace starts to running out.

Have run "risetup -check" after creating the images. Have now the famous
groveler 8194 - USN Log overrun eventlog entries which so many people have
on Windows 2003 and for which Microsoft only provides one completely
outdated KB article for Windows 2000:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=247611. They also mention a tool
grovctrl.exe that is not available in Windows 2003. And the Windows 2000
Version of the tool does not work on Windows 2003.

Since December 21th, 2007, there are only 673 Mbytes of free disk space on
the reminst volume after creating the 4 nearly identical images. Now, after
12 days, there are only 612 MBytes of free disk space.

Has anyone an idea/hint or even solution how to make the groveler / SIS
service working again as it should?

Thank you in advance for any help.
Franz
