Ideally they should be using one NIC or the other, not both. Having a machine connected to two networks (or two connections to the same network) can cause some odd things to happen, because there are two IP addresses linked to the computer's name. These problems can be difficult to track down.

When laptop computers authenticate, do they authenticate separately for the wired connection and the wireless connection? Should they be listed as two separate workstations? or should both interfaces be attached to the same computer name?
When I look at the computer name in DHCP, one NIC includes the <computer name>.<domain name>, the other NIC just includes the <computer name>.
Does this mean that only one has been authenticated by the DC?
