Missing folders on network share
I have some users saying that folders are missing from a shared area
on the network (Windows server 2003). I have a number of undelete and
rescue applications, but nothing is showing as deleted. I have
searched in case the folders have been moved without success. Any
ideas?
Dollars to donuts, someone has inadvertently or deliberately deleted or
dragged/moved stuff. This doesn't happen on its own!
Since you have W2003, you should be running volume shadow copy
services....if you aren't, or if it's been too long since the damage was
done, you'll need to go back to tape. VSS is a lifesaver, and if it isn't
enabled now, do it!
