logging on to a server 2003 domain

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi,

We have a Server 2003 domain called mydomain.com

When we try to logon to the domain from a workstation, we have to use
"mydomain" instead of "mydomain.com"

Aren't we supposed to be using the dot com domain name? The mydomain is a
netbios name?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!
