The reason I ask is I inherited a 2003SBS network that I performed a
Transition Pack upgrade to Standard and Enterprise 2003 and Exchange
and wasn't sure if it was a hold-over from Small Business.
Nah. It was a decision the previous regime made. :-)
The choice between using your external domain name or a private TLD for the
internal AD domain name has been a controversial subject since AD day one.
Me, I like to use a private name, such as .net or ,local, .corp, etc. But
then again, I've setup domains based on the public name because the customer
insisted.
