TC <travelclarkie@xxxxxxxxx> stated, which I commented on below:
Hello,
I am noticing; well I have always noticed with Windows that when you
need to drag and drop files between computers they always go slow.
We're talking 1-2% of a 100Mbs 100% switch LAN. It's getting annoying
and I was wondering what I can do to speed things up.
Transfers are between XP and XP and XP and 2003 just dragging and
dropping with in mapped and unmapped drives.
If I do FTP, HTTP, SSH, and other transfers on the Internet I can
saturate the Internet connection. When I use to run an FTP server on
the LAN I was able to reach 100% through put. Why can't I without the
FTP server. I want to avoid the FTP server on the LAN as I'd like to
just stick with my mapped drives.
Thanks,
TC
