George,
you might want to read about a utility called Robocopy.exe (from Microsoft)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323275
Robocopy.exe (and robocopy.doc) comes with the Resource kit tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9d467a69-57ff-4ae7-96ee-b18c4790cffd&DisplayLang=en
HTH,

I'm trying to write a batch scriipt that will basically take a file fromthe
following location on the local server D:\Backup\file.dmp. I want to copyit
to another server via unc path. I want to avoid having to map a drive tothe
folder on this server. the path to the folder isthe
\\server1\D$\backups\exports. Is there any difference between removing
file from the destination directory or simply overwritting the file thaton
currenly resides on the destination server. I'm concerned with file
integrity. I would be running the script localy through a scheduled task
the server which houses the file I want to move. Any help would begreatly
apprecaited.
