I read many articles with this problem but I never found the solution.
We work a lot with many 500k excel files for our quotations for our
customers.
Before, all this excel files was on a XP workstation. The time for the
saving of one excel file was 3 seconds.
Since we transfert all the excel files on the windows 2003 file server
it takes now 9 seconds.
I made a test on my Windows 2000 server and it takes 3 seconds like the
xp workstation.
So it exist really a problem with the 2003 server.
I know that's probably a patch but for now I am completely upgraded.
Windows server 2003 ibm xseries 226
-Gigabit networking
-cpu Xeon 3ghz
-2g memory
-raid 5 with 4 disk sata 160g
I try to change this regedit keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\<¬interface>
Value Type: REG_DWORD-Boolean
Value Name: TcpAckFrequency
Value: 1 instead of the default 2
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameter¬s
: EnableSecuritySignature and RequireSecuritySignature to 0
without success.
Thank you for any idea !
Bruno
