Thanks for posting.

First, Windows Server 2003 supports Jumbo Frame for sure but it also
require NIC to support it. In other words, I'd like to suggest you check if
the NIC in use is support Jumbo Frame and if it is enabled. Regarding this,
please contact NIC manufacture for assistance.

Second, when you said Gear, you mean NIC or Switch? I ask this because when
you ping localhost, it will go through local NIC but will not go through
any switches.

I'm trying to enable jumbo frames on our gear, but am having trouble
verifying it. When I enable it on my w2k3 server and then ping
localhost -f -l 9000 (or anything above 1492) I get a response that the
packet needs to be fragmented. How can I verify that enabling Jumbo
Frames
has actually gone into effect on my local machine (before troubleshooting
the switch)? Is it fair to assume that pinging localhost doesn't even
put
the bits on the wire, and eliminates the switch as a problem?
