Hi,
Wondering if this is by design or we don't know how to properly configure
the FTP site of Windows 2003 server. PS: This is an intranet site but with
a dedicated IP address.
We have created several virtual directories (mapping to file folders) under
the default FTP site of Windows 2003 server.
And we are able to use FTP client to access this FTP site from a remote
location.
However, when we use FTP client to access the FTP site, it always display
only one particular folder (se. Folder A).
It was not until later when we typed other folders' names to replace the
name of folder A in FTP client did we know that it could be accessed too.
Initially, we thought there is only one folder can be accessed.
My questions are:
(1) Is there a way to display multiple folders when we connected to the FTP
site, instead of the one? For example, we have three virtual directories
(A, B, C). Is it possible to display all virtual directories upon
connection has been established using FTP client, instead of going right
into directory A.
(2) Using IE: When we typed our FTP site (Intranet) name within IE, it
prompts for username and password. After that, it displayed nothing on the
page or folder. Unlike using FTP client where we could switch to a
different folder by typing its name, IE says that it cannot access the
folder. Although we don't use IE to access FTP site often, just wondering
if something is wrong with FTP site configuration or the client site (IE)
configuration problem.
Many thanks.
