Hi,
I could not find any thing wrong with the DNS settings, all machines are
configured to "obtain an IP address automatically" and to "Use the following
DNS server address" 10.1.1.6 the server address default gateway = 10.1.1.1
DNS Scope = 10.1.1.100-200 WINS = 10.1.1.6 there are serveral reservation for
printers
This morning I could not log on to a computer, I had to log on as the local
Admin so that some one could work at the station. I logged them on & whent to
the server;
in the active directory' users & computers I looked at the computer account
& the user account, niether showed any problems? ie, no lockout? also, no
errors in the log files, well none that were useful!
when loggin on I receive :
can not connect to the domain, or domain unreachable, iether the domain is
down or the account etc but then when I log on to the local admin acc' I can
use the remote desktop to connect to the server, no problems & when I take
the account off the server I am asked for the domain admin acc & password
from the local machine?

What's the error message? I would check the DNS settings first.

I have one server (windows 2003 standard) & 35 workstations,(all XP
Pro,
fully updated) the network has been running for about 2 weeks, with
very few
problems.... except every few days one of the workstations (not always
the
same one) can no longer connect to the domain not even with the admin
log-in, however I can log onto the local admin account & remote desktop
to
the server, in the user account the lockout is not checked! the only
way that
I have found to connect again is to re-join the computer to the
domain... ?
then all is well??
Any ideas Please?
