TTL has nothing to do with ARP cache entries. However, open a command window
and type "arp /?" You will see an example on how to create a static arp
entry.

I'm doing an FTP transfer between a Windows 2000 client and a proprietarythe
box running some kind of VxWorks that runs the ftp server. In doing a
sniffer trace of this ftp transfer, I see my client issuing ARPs to get
ethernet mac address of the VxWorks device every one or two seconds. That
seems like a real waste of resources, and it makes me wonder is there away
for either Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 to set a minimum time to livevalue
for any ARP translations, so that no matter what value is supplied by the
remote machine, the actual time to live will be something more reasonable,
say 30 to 60 seconds?
