where do i find these? sorry i am new at this!

Use a newsreader like Outlook Express or Forte Agent rather than the web
interface to the newsgroups - it's a lot easier to do nearly everything
there, including searching, which is always a good idea to do before you
post, as well as mark messages to be watched, and filter based on replies to
your posts.

The Microsoft public news server is news.microsoft.com and you can subscribe
to as many groups as you like.

i didn't set the work group up, it was already in place when i

It isn't *that* hard, but I suggest you do some reading first....(if
your mind is at all like mine, sometimes it's easier to get a decent
feel for something via an overview in an actual old-fashioned book
printed on actual old-fashioned paper).

no we're using a work group

Active Directory (a domain as opposed to a workgroup).
