PCs don't see each other through dsl router

Hmmmm, I've got a couple of xp computers plugged into the switch in the back
of a dsl router that goes into my phone line. Both of them are able to
access the internet as they should, but for some strange reason I am not
able to connect from computerA to computerB. When I try a simple ping,
there is no response to the ping. Both computers receive IP addresses via
dhcp from the router.
Both computers are able to ping their respective default gateway which is
the dsl router. If I try a tracert from computerA to computerB, I don't
even see an initial hop to the router--of course there shouldn't be one
because they are on the exact same subnet, but I thought I'd try it anyway.
Any ideas? Thanks, Joel
