I would check the Event Viewer first. If that happens again, I would =
check the IP, DNS, subnet and default gateway.

Hi everyone,

I'm having problems that I don't know how to diagnose. Today, our
network went down. I have no idea why. I figure it must be some cable,
switch, or hub - or maybe even a network card.

Our network starts with a server running OpenBSD that provides VPN and
firewall. That box also connects to a 16-port switch. From that =
switch,
many other hubs and switches are connected, which the computers =
connect
to. Of of the switches are connected to our DS server.

When our network went down, I first tried to ping our DS/DNS/DHCP
server. Nothing. Next, I tried to ping our gateway. Nothing. I
restarted the DS server and now everything is fine.

Where do I start?=20

Help much appreciated.

Regards,
Mike.
