Server 2003 Domain & Wireless Connection logon problems

Hello, I hope someone can shed some light on a problem i'm having. We
have just started a new network roll out in an educational environment.
We have wireless access points with basic WEP security enabled to
support our laptop users. These users have roaming profiles and can
logon to desktop machines without a problem.
On a small number of laptops (Dell D610's) I have noticed that when the
user starts up the machine and logs on the wireless connection is
disconnecting during the logon process. With these laptops there is a
status light for the wireless connection, when the computer boots into
windows this light turns green indicating it has connected to a
wireless access point. Whilst the system is logging on this light
briefly goes out and then comes back on suggesting that the wireless
has disconnected and then reconnected itself. This causes a problem as
the roaming profile is not loaded and the machine goes to a temp
profile.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? I am running out of ideas!
Appreciate any help and information, Thanks
.
