Problem getting w2kPro to become part of domain

Got a W2k Srvr, latest sp and critical updates applied. It is set up as a
domain controller (the first one on my soho network). I got a W2kPro machine
that is member of Workgroup and a WinXp machine that is member of mydomain.
I log on to all machines using the same username and password, using a
domain account. But on the W2kPro I have same user name as a local account
for now. I want to have the Win2K machine as part of the domain. When I get
to stage where my user name and password of a user able to join doin domain
is required I enter administrator and his domain password. I get "The
credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials" and cant
go any further except click cancel. Can anyone tell me what I got to do to
join that darn domain.

Thanks for any help.
