Winxp slow login to Win2003

Hi all,

Used to be, our windows 2003 server also serves as a gateway to internetl.
here's the old setup before changes took place:

Win2003 Server's NICs
- Built-in NIC - connected to the broadband modem
- Compex USB NIC - connected to the D-Link HUB

With the above setup, the Win2003 server experienced freezing occasionally
and we suspect it is the Compex USB NIC causes the server to hang. So, we
decided to remove it and installed a D-link router. Below is now the new
setup:

-Broadband Modem - connected to D-Link Router
-D-Link Router - uplinked to D-Link Hub
-Win2003 Server Built-in NIC - connected to D-Link Hub.

Internet works fine with this setup but WinXp clients pauses for approx
3-5
mins on "Appliying personal settings" before it bring up the desktop.
Everything else work fine once logged-in but the tremendous slowness on
login really annoys users. Anyone has come across the same problem? How
to resolve it? Please help.

Thanks in advance,
Garu
