Re: Wired and wireless NICs on the same system

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi Stuart,

I claim no mastery at all on the subject, but I hope this will help:

My Toshiba laptop has a program named "Network Device Switch". I had
downloaded this from Toshiba Support. This program checks the wired LAN port
continuously, and if it finds that a functional LAN cable is plugged,
disables the wireless port and connects to the wired LAN. Any time the cable
is removed or the wired LAN becomes non-functional, it switches to the
wireless automatically.
I hope that this program (or its equivalents, if available) should help yo
solve your problem.

Additionally, if you adjust the lease duration for a short period (hours?
minutes?), your problem of the DHCP scope being consumed too fast could be
overcome.

Regards,
Engin
