Just upgraded from NT server to Server 2003. We have several remote users
accessing their office computers with PCAnywhere. We have a Sonicwall
Firewall and it is setup to use port forwarding for the PCAnywhere
requests. We are using the sonicwalls DHCP server and it is setup as the
gateway. It worked well under the NT server.
I had to change the DNS settings on all of our XP computers to the 2003
server inorder to resolve slow login and directory browsing. This has
caused PCAnywhere not to work. Symantec suggested that I try telnetting to
the router/firewall followed by the port number. I can sucessufully telnet
to a PCAnywhere win2k computer that has its dns set to the router. I can
not telnet to a PCAnywhere XP computer that has it's dns set to the 2003
server. Any suggestions on how to get PCAnywhere up and running? Thanks.
