if kerberos packets are not making it to the dc then that will also produce
the message you saw.
to see if something is blocking 88, get on the machine that is having
trouble and try to telnet to the dc on port 88:
C:\>telnet domaincontroller 88
Connecting To domaincontroller...Could not open a connection to host on port
88
: Connect failed
if the test is successful, you may have trouble with kerberos over udp. try
making kerberos run on tcp. there is a kb for that.
